Two Lipsticks Obsessions // A Nars Love Story

Hey there,

My boyfriend always says that from the moment I began to buy lipsticks, I kept upgrading, going from Kiko, to Topshop, to Mac, to now Nars or even Estee Lauder. I know, I know... my credit card should be taken away from me... Don't get me wrong, I do not spend a hundred of euros in lipsticks in a month, I usually allow myself one lipstick every months or so. But yes, in a year my obsession has grown and has became unstoppable but we're not here to talk about that. Nope, today I decided to talk to you about two lipsticks that I'm terribly in love with.

In the beginning of September, I came across Nars' lipsticks, they just caught my eyes while I was shopping at Sephora and I decided to give it a go, even though the price didn't really attract my credit card. The first one I got was the Anita, and it was pretty amazing, so I decided to keep going, so I got another one (Vera) and another one (Charlotte), and another one (Walkyrie) and another one (Luxembourg)... I won't talk to you about my whole lipstick collection here, instead, I'm going to talk to you about my two absolute favorites from Nars: Charlotte and Walkyrie.

The Charlotte lipstick is from the Nars Audacious lipstick collection, which has around 40 amazing shades named after great lady. And since the formula is amazingly great, I'm thinking about writing another post just about those, but we'll see. This lipstick is the prettiest color I own, and it's funny because the first time I got a dark shade lipstick, it was from Topshop, and I was not so sure I could pull it off, but since that moment, I never let go of my dark shades lipsticks, and they are my go to for Fall time and Winter time.

It's a creamy formula but it has a semi matte finished, it's so nice to apply and feels so great on the lips. The color is just so gorgeous and lasts a very long time, even when you eat or drink something, or kiss someone (let's be honest), it stays on, the color may not be as great as when you first applied it but you still have a little bit of shade of your lips. The packaging is very minimalist, as I love, plain black, with a little bit of Nars going on, but it's so subtle, you can't really see it. But what I truly adore about this packaging is that it's magnetic so it just closed perfectly by itself, which is always good when you put your lipstick in a makeup bag.

I've got two other lipsticks with a similar dark burgundy almost purple shade, which you can't really tell due to the lights in the picture, the first one is the Wicked from Topshop, and the other one is the Diva from Mac, but the Charlotte is my favorite, even though the price really hurts. The formula is just brillant, it's so easy to apply and as I said it's a long lasting semi matte lipstick, definitely a killer.

My other lipstick obsession is not truly a lipstick, it's still from Nars, but it's the Walkyrie lip pencil. It's a Velvet Matte lip pencil and the shade is a light brownish almost corail shade, which reminds me of the Velvet Teddy shade from Mac, but darker. It's described as a burnt coral red on the website, and the formula is quite creamy, with a truly matte finished but it's not dry on the lips. It's easy to apply since it's a pencil so you can really draw the lines of your lips, and it's long lasting. I love the color, even though I'm not very into nude shades but I really like this one, and I've worn it every single day this past week.

It goes great with a bold eyes look or even with a simple, nude look. Basically, it works with everything, and I feel like it adds a very 90's vibes to a look. I love how it feels on my lips, and I love to apply it. The only bummer is that it's a pencil... and I'm not a big fan of pencils as lipsticks since you have to trim it, so it makes it smaller and smaller... But I really like this one, and I will 100% buy this again once I run out.

That's it for today, I hope you liked this post! I'll see you soon, but until then, you can follow me on Blog Lovin so you'll know exactly when I post something here, and if you want to know what I'm up to on a daily basis you can follow me on Instagram.

Vacation in Paradise // French Caribbean Photo Diary

Hey there,

First of all, I want to apologize for my lack of activity here, and seriously I have no excuse. I've been looking for an internship for the summer for 2 months now, sending lots of application (like 40 maybe), without any feed back. I guess I've been feeling under the weather, disappointed and stressed lately, and I didn't feel like blogging. I'm really sorry about that, but I'm back with lots of pictures! In fact, I was away for a week in the lovely island of Martinique, French Caribbean with my family and it was true paradise! I got home a few days ago but I'm still feeling the Jet-Lag running my life for me... Anyway, today, I thought I'll share some photographs from this sunny and hot trip.

It's funny how it's feels so out of space there, you're a thousands miles away from home, under a hot sun, walking on sand, with your toes close to the clear water, wearing shorts, flip flops and bathing suit, in March! Like what? Seriously, coming home was like a clap in my face. You leave a 30°C country and come home to 2°C and snow... I swear when I was laying on the beach under palm trees, with a book in one hand and ice cream on the other, I felt like it was summer, and I was going to come home to August, and free time. Nope, still in school, still have to wear turtle-necks and boots... But it could be worse.

I felt like every single trouble, anxiety, tiredness, even spots, was so far from me. The only thing I had to worry about was drinking enough water, putting sunscreen every 2 hours or so, and being aware of mosquitos, which was of no good use because I've got like 25 mosquitos bites all over my body, not even kidding... Funny story, I saw the stupidest sign at the airport when we were leaving "try to not get bitten by mosquitos", I'm sorry, what? I don't mean to be rude to whoever wrote this, but did you step outside the airport ? This island is crowded with mosquitos, and there's no way to not get bitten because even with repulsive, they, somehow, find a way to get to your skin and bite you on the most random spots. It's a miracle if I don't get Zika or any kind of virus...

I think I've never felt so relaxed and good, no sight of anxiety at all, even though it hit me right on the face when I got home. I had time, and it felt amazing, I could just focus on reading two books in a week and listening to music. I was so busy in France, I didn't even know Justin Bieber's new album was that good! I was listening to his song on the radio without even knowing it was him! I'm not a Beliebers but I'm not gonna lie, his album is really good. It was also a good time to stay away from shopping, I did not buy anything in a week! It's a record for me! Okay, I'm lying... I did buy a body lotion from Victoria Secret's at the airport, but can you blame a girl who does not get VS in France?

We walked a lot, and apart from going from beaches to beaches and tanning, we did a 2 hours hike in the "jungle" to see some amazing waterfalls, we took a boat to reach the other side of the island, and watch a sunset as we were riding on waves. We walked, we talked to people who live there, and who are so nice, we ate specialties, I drink coconut water out of a coconut for the first time of my life! I had banana gratin! and ice creams... lots of ice creams... No shame! I played fetch with the nicest dog, even though I'm scared of dogs. We took a rain shower on the most paradisiac beach and drove for 2 hours and 30 minutes through mountains with a jungle background with wet clothes on us, and laying on the car seats.

We rented an AirBNB by a small dark sand beach in the lovely city of Case-Pilote, a cute house with a sharing garden full of Palm Trees and coconut falling on the ground, and friendly dogs who belonged to the neighbors. At night, we would stay up playing rami on the terrace, fighting mosquitos with an electric bugs racket, listening to the sound of waves crashing on the beach, and weird bird's scream, which was similar to the sound of the black smoke from Lost.

It was an amazing trip in Paradise, full of memories spent in family. We had our ups and downs, but we had a lot of fun, and some moments of fear, like that night we found a huge spider in the bathroom, and I'm not even exaggerating! This spider was bigger than my hand, and it had hair! I really took this time for myself and enjoying life, and getting to a state of confidence. Even though I did take some pictures of this trip with my camera, I didn't take any real OOTD pictures. However, you can find some over on my Instagram.

I hope you enjoyed this photo diary, I'll sea you soon, but until then, you can follow me on Blog Lovin so you'll know exactly when my next posts are coming.
