Summer Waves Sadness // Wavy and Volumized Hair Routine

Hey there,

That's it summer is over, I mean it's has been over for a few weeks now since my first day of school was on the 7th of September...

Anyway, in order to not get too depressed about summer being over, I decided to recreate my summer hair routine that I actually adopted as a daily (kinda) hair routine. So today my friends I'm showing you my Wavy and Volumized Hair Routine!

I have curly and frizzy hair, that I actually hate... My hair is so short that I look like a sheep when I wear my real curly hair. So I straight my hair (I know so damaging!). However, during the summer I found that my short hair needed some more volume.

That's when I decided to try to curl my hair a little bit. I didn't want really curly wear, since that's what I originally have, I just wanted waves.

So let's start this routine!

I use the Remington Curling Iron, which is quite a big iron, but before putting any heat on my damaged hair I put my GHD Heat protector hair spray all over my hair.

I then brush my hair with my Tangle Teezer, which I love. I feel like my hair are shiner and softer whenever I brush it with the Tangle Teezer.

Real deal now! Once my curling iron is hot, I split my hair into 2 big parts. I start with the bottom part of my hair.

I take a small piece of my hair, wrap it around the iron by starting from the bottom to the top. What I do is that I take the end of the pieces hold it with the clip of the iron, and wrap the rest of my hair around the iron. I feel like it's easier to wrap your hair around the iron when the end is "stuck" to the clip. I wait for 10 seconds and Tadaaaa my wave is here!

I repeat that process until all the pieces of the bottom part of my hair is wavy. Then I let go the top part and repeat the same process.

Take small pieces, wrap my hair around the iron from bottom to top, wait, let go. Repeat.

Once my hair is definitely wavy, I take my Bumble and Bumble Hair Thickening hairspray, spray it all over my hair, and to make sure the spray sticks to my hair and adds volume I just squeeze the pieces of my hair.

I love the effects! The Bumble and Bumble hair spray really helps my waves to last and adds a lot volume. Plus, I feel like my Tie and Dye/Ombre hair shows more with the waves.

That's it for my routine!

Purple Fierceness // Makeup Tutorial

Hey there lovely people,

Today I thought I'll show you by far one of my favorite makeup look. I'm pretty proud of making this one by myself too. I really feel like my brown eyes are really "highlighted" with this look.

In fact, I feel like purple and pink colors are great for brown eyes, as well as other eyes colors don't get me wrong. But I'm glad I finally find a color that makes my eyes popped.
I've been doing this makeup look for awhile now. I actually started back in February and I started wearing it non stop, but then I tried some different things and I ended up not wearing it as much, but now I'm back into it.

Anyway let's get into it!

I've started by doing my foundation, brows and contouring, but since my routine hasn't changed since my last makeup post, I didn't take any pictures for those steps. (Sorry!). However, I did change one step, which is for my blush.

For this look, I usually take my Mac blush with the Blush Brush from Makeup Forever, I also add a little bit of the Bourgeois Blush in the shade Ambre. I really want my eyes to be the highlight of this look so I don't want to draw attention to my cheeks or lips, that's why I used a "casual" color for my cheeks.

Next, I'm taking my Rimmel Undercover Shadow Primer, I apply it on my eye lids and blend it with my fingers.

So real deal now! Ready?

I take my Nars Dual Intensity Shadow in the shade Desdemona, which I seriously adore! I mean look at this color! It's gorgeous! Plus, it's super pigmented. It's a shimmery bright pink/purple, really really really really pretty but quite pricy for an eyeshadow I must say.

Anyway, I take my shadow and with my Sephora All Over Shadow Brush I apply it all over my eye lids.

With a small fluffy brush from Makeup Forever, which is the number 218, I apply Desdemona underneath my eyes along the lower lash line but just on the outer corner. I feel like it adds more depth and definition.

Next step, to blend everything out, I take my big fluffy brush from Sephora and my Texture eyeshadow from Mac, and apply it on my creases. It's really meant to blend everything out and just add a softer touch.

Then I take the shade Querry still from Mac and my 218 eyeshadow brush from Mac, I apply it on the inner corner of my eyes and I bring it back to the lower lash line on the inner corner. It really helps to open up the eyes, and it's a great hack if you look tired! It really makes your eyes popped.

Once everything is done, aka when every color is properly set, I go back with Desdemona, using my 218 Makeup Forever eyeshadow brush, again, and I add a little more shadow to my eyelids and lower lash line in order to really define the look and again, add more depth.

If you want a more daily wearable look, you don't have to do this step though.

Next, I take my all time favorite eyeliner from Urban Decay (24/7 Liner) and I draw a line among my lash line and finish up with a big wing.

I usually draw a thine line among my upper lash lines so it's easier to actually draw the line and the wing. You just have to add more liner to get the line and the wing you want.

I feel like a wing at the end really helps open up your eyes and it gives a more sophisticated look. Again, for a more day-to-day look you can't just add mascara to the eyeshadows and skip the eyeliner step.

Next step is mascara! This time I thought I'll spice things up a bit by using the Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced. And I must say I'm pretty amazed by this mascara. I loved Perversion from Urban Decay but I feel like I love this one even more. It lifts up the lashes, gives volume, lengths etc. just like Perversion. But I don't know it adds a little something. I might do a little Battle of the Lashes.

So I apply my mascara on both top and bottom lashes.

Final eye step is eye pencil! I take my Rimmel Kohl Eye Pencil in a white shade and I apply it on my waterline. It's great to open up the eyes and get an extra glowing look from the eyes if that makes sense. Again, it's a good hack for when you are tired (either with a white eye pencil or a beige).

Final step is lipstick. I really wanted to put the emphasis on my eyes, that's why I'm using a nude shade lipstick. This one is Mocha from Mac. It's a great light brown satin lipstick that goes perfectly with this purple look. However, this look works with a pink or red shade lipstick as well! I used to wear it with the Mac Red which is a satin deep red lipstick, Lady Danger, a red-orange matte lipstick, and even All Fired Up, which is a bright red pink lipstick.

That's it for the finished look.

I really love it, it works very well from day to night. I love how my eyes are really highlighted and emphasized.

That Time I Didn't Know What To Wear // #OOTD

Hey there,

Do you ever get those days where you have literally no idea what to wear because you want to wear so much things at the same time you can't decide? Yes? No? Am I the only one? Please tell me I'm not!

That's what happened to me yesterday, I really wanted to wear my embrodered top from Brandy Melville but at the same time I wanted to wear my new skirt from Zara, and some other things... Anyway, I had so many ideas of outfits in my head but of course I could only wear one, I mean I'm not a Top Model with a busy life that needs to change three times a day. I wish though.

So yesterday was actually the first time I drove my boyfriend crazy in an 8 months relationship, because I had no idea what to wear and I changed outfits maybe 10 times, yeah he counted... At first I was wearing jeans with my black top with a turtle neck from Brandy Melville, but I didn't feel like wearing jeans, so I put on my leather shorts from Zara with a vintage cardigan with houndstooth pattern. Again, I didn't feel confortable at all 'cause we couldn't tell I was wearing something under the cardigan. So I changed again and tried on maybe four different skirts before I ended up putting my jeans back on, with my embroidered top with an open back from Brandy Melville. When I thought that maybe I should have kept my shorts on, my boyfriend completely went mad, and said that whatever I decided to put on next would be my outfit of the day. OMG so nerve wrecking!

But it was my final outfit. I decided to try on my dress with black and white stripes from Brandy Melville but instead of wearing it like a skirt, I tied a knot on the side of the dress and turned it into a T-Shirt. I've done that in the past, and you might know it if you saw my Disney post. I kept my jeans on, put on my brand new shoes from Zara and my pink trench from Paul and Joe, and BOOM I was ready to go! I can't tell you how happy and relieved my boyfriend was. #TrueStory I just love how the trench spices up the outfit, the color is perfect for summer/fall transition, it's also a great color for spring, and for those days when it's cold but sunny outside. Otherwise my outfit was quite simple.

Anyway, that was quite a short post but I hope you liked it.

See you soon,

Love,

Elsa.

PS: Sorry for the bad quality pictures I didn't take my camera with me on that day since I was just going to my doctor and then I had a family dinner.

Easy, Breezy, Casual // Back To School Makeup Routine

Hey there,

Today I'm showing you my favorite makeup look for going back to school. It's very neutral, very easy to wear and to replicate on a day to day basis, since let's be honest, I'm not a professional makeup artist.

So little disclaimer! No I'm not a professional, I'm not perfect either, I'm still learning how to do my makeup, and I'm sharing with you what I'm learning.

Let's get into it! Hope you like it, and let me know in the comments or on my social media accounts if you tried to do this look!

First of all, I start with my foundation. I'm using my Revlon Color Stay foundation in the shade 250, which is Fresh Beige. I apply it all over my face with the Real Techniques Expert Face brush.

When I apply it, I just put 1-2 drops on the back of my head and then use my brush to apply it on my face.

It's a great foundation! In fact, I had some crazy spots in the beginning of the months and my cousin was stunned how great the coverage of my foundation was, since she didn't notice at all my spots and blemishes, that is of course, until I took off my makeup...

It's a medium coverage foundation, mine is for combination/oily skin, it stays on all day since I really don't do any touch up on my skin during the day, and it's really affordable!

Next, I apply my Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in a triangle shape under my eyes, then in a line on my nose, cupid bones, a little bit on my forehead and chin.

I still use my Real Techniques Expert Face brush when I apply it. I love this concealer too, it really conceals well, very affordable, and it stays on quite well too.

Then I powder my face with my Stay Matte Pressed Powder from Rimmel with my Real Techniques Powder Brush.

If you read my beauty post from my Packing for Florence series and my July's Favorites post, you'll know that it's a great powder, which really helps keeping my makeup on. I love it and again it's very affordable!

When I'm done with my foundation, it's eyebrows time! I'm using my Benefit Gimme Brow gel, which I love and  is one my all time favorite! I did a review on it, as well on my July's Favorites post. So All I'm gonna say here is that it really gives you that EyeBrows on Fleek look.

Next step is contouring with my Maxi Delight Bronzer from Bourgeois. I apply it with my Bronzer Brush from Sephora.

What I do is that I do my best fish face to apply it in the hollows of my cheeks, then I do a 3 shapes aka I apply it on the outsides of my forehead and under my jaw.

Then is blush time! I'm currently using my Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Palette and I apply it my Real Technique Blush Brush.

It's really shimmery and it stays on forever! Love love love love it!

For highlighting, I normally use my Kiko Radiant Touch Highlighter Stick on the top of my cheeks, under my eyebrows, on my cupid bones and down my nose, and blend it with my fingers. But this time I use my Mineralize Skin Finish highlighting powder from Mac and I apply it with a regular powder brush.

Let's get into the real serious deal now! The eyes!

I first prime my eyes with the Rimmer Undercover Shadow Primer, which I apply all over my eye lids and blend with my fingers.

Then, I take my Soba eyeshadows from Mac which is a "gold brown with gold shimmer shadow" according to Mac, I apply it all over my eye lid with a fluffy brush from Sephora.

For my crease I use the Texture eyeshadow, which is a "peachy brown with shimmer" shadow still from Mac. I apply with the same fluffy blush from Sephora.

Next, it's time to give my eyes a little wing! I use my 24/7 Liquid Liner from Urban Decay. It's a great eyeliner, and I talked about it on my Favorites post.

I just draw a line and finish it with a kind of small wing. If I mess up, because I do mess up sometimes, especially if someone is taking my picture while I'm drawing my wing, I just correct it with a Q-Tip with a little bit of eye makeup remover.

For the mascara, I'm using on my top and bottom lashes non other than the Urban Decay Perversion mascara. I love it so much!!!!!!! Not only does it lift up my lashes, but it gives the impression of fuller and longer lashes!

Finally, for the lipstick I apply my Ruby Woo Mac Lipstick, one of my favorites for Summer/Fall transition. It's a matte lipstick so it really stays on and the color is so great, it gives a retro red touch.

If you're not in for bold lips, you can also wear a nude lipstick. My favorite to go with this look is Mac Mehr Lipstick, which is a pinky nude matte lipstick.

That's it for my makeup look!
