Lovely Day in the French Countryside
Gerberoy, France
Hey there,
I have been told that when there's an elephant in the room, you need to introduce it. So here it is... I'm very sorry, yet again, for my lack of activity up here. I underestimated my ability to find the perfect balance between my work and my blog, and for that, I'm truly sorry. With that being said, let's get into the real subject.
I have a great love for flowers, more like an obsession actually, so I found myself in heaven when my boyfriend and I decided to go on a little trip to Gerberoy, one of the prettiest french villages. It's a fact, I didn't come up with that. Summer finally decided to hit us for the weekend so we decided to take advantage of it and we couldn't be happier bout it. So we hit the road at noon and got to the lovely town of Gerberoy an hour and a half later.
The weather being clement to us, it was the perfect occasion to turn this little getaway into a blogger opportunity. I can't tell you how pleased my lovely boyfriend was to put on his Blogger Boyfriend hat again.
This town is basically flower goals and my personal blogger paradise. Combined with the fact that it was the perfect summer day, this day was truly perfect. I was finally able to get my shorts out of the closet. Honestly, I was starting to think that those shorts were not going to see the sun any time soon. But I was wrong, and I found the cutest combination for my outfit for this lovely day.
I recently acquired some very cute items from the brand Heartloom. If you've never heard of it, it's a very cute american clothing brand based in New York, very bohemian and contemporary. Their clothes are perfect for a day to night outfit. I'm literally obsessed with the fabrics, the laces, the patterns, the cut etc. If you're from Europe, beware, because this lovely brand doesn't ship internationally, just yet, be patient. However, you can still find them on resellers website, such as Revolve.
For this outfit, I'm wearing the Alida Shorts, they are as comfy as a pyjama but yet so stylish. They are plain black, with cut-outs details on the ends that show a little bit of skin. The fabric is very light, and perfect for the summer time. I paired them with a embroidered white top from Brandy Melville, which has an open back, and an oversized jean jacket from Topshop, which later that day I was happy to have on me... In fact, we drove to the beach after our little stop in the country side and it was still sunny but yet a little chilly.
I hope you liked this post, please let me know if you did. Don't forget to follow me on Instagram for a daily dose of Lipstick Road, and BlogLovin for blogposts updates.
I'll see you soon.
Love,
Elsa
