Travel Diary: Day 2 in Sunny Amsterdam

Amsterdam, Pays-Bas
Hey there,

Did I tell you how wonderful Amsterdam is ? We got very lucky on our second day there because even though the weather cast said it would be gloomy for the 4 days we were in Netherlands, it was so sunny and warm on day 2! So we decided to take advantage of the weather and took a huge walk all morning in the Jordann neighborhood. Jordann is basically the area you want to live in. It's cute, it's nice and far from any city craziness. Some may say it's an "Hipster area". Anyhow I really liked and so did my father.

The walk we took was actually recommended in our guide. We walked through all the Jordann neighborhood and find our way to the Anne Frank House. We did not go inside, even though I personally wanted to. It was crowded, so we just sat on a bench in front of it and enjoyed the view of the area, and read a little bit about the neighborhood and Anne Frank personal history. After this very much needed break... Did I mention my legs were still store from the day before? We walked toward a cute market, which I cannot remember the name of...

We passed the Cheese Museum and the Tulip Museum, which are surprisingly small. Found our way to the Market, and then headed back to the city centre walking through cute residential areas where we had lunch sitting by the canals under the sun.

Once lunch was over, we continued our way to the city centre. We wanted to walk to the Opera House, North Market, and then Rembrandt House. It was so hot we had to stop a couple of times to rest or have a drink. No need to mention I was regretting taking my leather jacket with me on this particular day.

Amsterdam is the city of Art and I don't say that because it hosts a few of the greatest museums on the planet. You can tell just by walking on the street that art is a very important feature in this city. We passed a few art galleries during our walk but we also could notice some art work on buildings and floors in Jordann. It felt nice to be staying in such an open-minded town.

I had such a love at first sight moment with Amsterdam. It's rare for me to fall for a city like I did. It just felt like this city was so pretty but nice to be in. I repeatedly said that I could easily live here because I felt good here. The buildings are amazing, the flowers everywhere are welcoming, and apart from the smell of weed in some areas, because yes I'm not going to ignore the fact that Amsterdam is also open minded regarding some drugs among other facts, the air feels nice.

Amsterdam is also basically flowers goal. There're flowers everywhere, on every balcony and windows, on bridges, in front of very houses. Simply everywhere. And you know how much I love my flowers.
