That Simple Ready to Go Outfit

Paris, France
Hey there,

I've had some issues getting dressed lately. No inspiration, no envy... I just had a huge wave of laziness that hit me and I've had some difficulties getting back on my feet. Each day it would literally take me 2 hours to get ready in the morning because I would spend most of the time sitting on the floor in front of my closet with no satisfaction about what's in the closet and no love with the way the clothes would fit on me. I would also spend lots of time on my bed, still in my pyjamas scrolling on Instagram, searching for daily outfits inspiration... not so successful though.

Leaving for Amsterdam for a 4 days getaway with my father was a chance for me to get my "life" together and get back on the fashion track. So I've done some shopping before I left, and acquired some cool fashionable basics and 90's inspired items. Among them was this lovely t-shirt from Brandy Melville, which I cannot let go of since the day I bought it.

I wanted graphics tees for the longest time, you know those cool vintage hard rock band t-shirts ? Yes those ones! Even though I like Led Zeppelin and the Rolling Stones, I don't listen to them on a daily basis, so I felt like cheating by buying a T-shirt like that and wearing it, because it wasn't me. So during a little trip to Brandy Melville, I found this Notting Hill T-shirt, simple, basic, but yet more like me.

I've been wearing this T-Shirt with everything! Well mostly Jeans actually... And even though the outfit was, some may say, stylish it was still too basics for me, and I was looking at those girls photos on Instagram, those girls that look cute and so fashionable no matter what, and I thought, I want to try harder to put myself together nicely. There was a time when I would only wear small heeled booties, until a year ago... For a year now I've been living in T-shirt, Jeans and Sneakers, which is not bad at all, but it's not me. It turns out it's easy to say that "this style or that style" isn't me, but it's harder to figure out what's my style.

That's when the skirt comes in. I've had this skirt for a little over a year now. It's from Topshop, I fell in love when I saw it and tried it, but yet I've never worn it because I didn't know how to wear it and for a long time I decided it was simply not for me. That was until my skirt met this T-Shirt and became friend with my good olds Leather Jacket and Cow boy Belt, and my loving Sneakers. I felt good in this outfit because I felt like myself, my good old basics on, the things that are definitely part of my style and here to stay, and some other things that are just going to come along in my finding my style journey.
